How to Pack for a Fishing Trip

ALL Fishing TRIPS ON WATER

ALL FISHING TRIPS require a PA State Fishing License.  All fishing trips will require a Fishing License unless you or a group member are under the age of 16. Pennsylvania Fishing Licenses can be purchased here on the Pa Fish & Game Website.   Polarized Sunglasses Hat, Rain Jacket. If you do not have your own Fly Rod or Spin Fishing Rod that you would prefer to use we have all the gear necessary to outfit you for the trip

Fly CASTING LESSONS FOR ALL LEVELS/COURSES/DISCIPLINES

JUST BRING YOURSELF WE HAVE THE REST COVERED. If you don’t have fishing waders we can also provide them upon request!

On Water Fly Fishing Lessons

Bring your Boots/Waders, Hat, Sunglasses, Rain Jacket (weather dependent), a Vest/FlyPack (If you have it, if not no worries). Bring what you need to be able to wade and we can fulfill all other gear you need.

Wade Fly Fishing Trips

– On all of our 1/2 Day and Full Day Wade Trout Fishing Trips, we ask that you bring your own Waders/Boots (Felt or Studded Preferred) if you have them, if not, we can provide waders! We can provide everything else for our Fishing trips as well. If you have your own Fly Rod and Reel set-up that you would prefer to use feel free to bring it, if not we have you covered. We have all the flies, rods, reels, lines, leaders, tippets, nippers, nets, and extra gear so that you don’t have to worry about it!

Overnight & Weekend Backpacking & Camping Fly Fishing Trips

For all overnight and weekend trips please bring a Backpack/Daypack that contains; Waterproof Jacket, wading socks, blanket, extra wading socks, LAYERS, bring layers to be able to take on and off, light long sleeve, Headlamp/Flashlight, Hiking Boots or Shoes, Ensolite pad (we will have some extras), and quick-dry towel. We will likely be hiking in our boots and waders for most of the day up and down the selected stretch of the stream. Food and Water will be our concern. And if you have any specific dietary needs please let us know prior to the trip.

All Kayak Trips Half and Full Day

We will provide all fishing gear, PFD’s, Safety Equipment, Fishing Kayaks, and Paddles. Just bring your Hat, Sunglasses, Water Shoes, Open Toe is okay as long as they are strapped, and proper weather-dependent clothing.

Overnight Kayak Camping Trips–

Bring a daypack filled with; Sleeping Bag, a Spare Set of Clothes, a Blanket, an Ensolite Pad, CamelBack (If you have one, if not no worries), Headlamp/Flashlight, DRESS IN LAYERS. Our Jet Boat and Fishing Kayaks have Plenty of room for storage. On these overnight trips feel free to bring what you think you may need to make yourself comfortable. Overpacking is safe IF you have room for it but too much weight & uneven distribution might have an effect on your paddling or the Jet Boat.

Half Day & Full Day Jet Boat Trips-

Hat, Sunglasses, Personal Sunscreen, Proper Clothing, Rain Jacket for potential water spray on Jet Boat. We will have lunch covered for full-day trips. Water will be provided for Half-Day trips.

Catfishing Trips-

Please wear close-toed shoes for catfishing trips. Bug spray if you have it if not we will have plenty. Headlamp, we carry extras and can distribute as necessary. Top Water will provide all rods, PFD’s, fishing gear, and all other necessary safety and Catfishing Equipment.

 Largemouth Bass Bank Fishing 101 Courses

Wear shoes that are able to get wet for our Bank Fishing Lessons because we will most likely be getting in the water! We always suggest a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen if you need it, and water-appropriate clothing. Feel free to bring any and all Bass Fishing gear. We will go over your gear during the sitdown portion of our Fishing Lesson otherwise, we’ll have plenty of Rods, Tackle, Gear, etc…
